Some days are special.

June 26th of 2020 was one of them.

Summer means extra long days, so the alarm clock felt extra early that day, but off I went in search of compelling pictures at my home away from home.  I roamed around various farms by the Missouri River.

Sometimes, photography can be a struggle.  All potential pictures are flat and lack any zest no matter how hard I try.  Elements can be boring.  Light can be flat.  All subjects seem to be uninspiring.

On this day, however, pictures circled around me effortlessly and I never wanted to stop.

So I didn't.

Because I was in the flow state.

The flow state in photography happens every once in a while for me, and it is a mighty fun ride.  It seems like even the memory cards and batteries can't keep up.  I normally have one ear bud in listening to music so that I don't miss the sounds of nature.

There's just nothing like being in a creative flow state.  It's like looking through a microscope with binoculars.

No details can hide from any scene.  All elements seem to cooperate.  Conditions and light are my best friends.

I took more than 400 pictures that day and here are some of my favorites.
