Welcome to Pearl Beach Resort & Spa in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.  We've toured Bora Bora, went swimming with the Bora Bora marine life, but now it's time to kick back and relax at this amazing resort.

This oasis is nestled in the northwest side of Bora Bora which enabled me to capture the rising sun over Mt. Otemanu every single morning.

In a twist of fate, we were redirected here after our initial stay at Le Meridien fell through at the last minute for renovations. If you know what it's like to mentally prepare yourself for a trip (especially one of a lifetime), it's unsettling to have things switched up on you last minute, but we knew there was adventure ahead, it might just be a few miles away from our original destination.

The wonderful staff at Pearl Beach Resort took good care of us.  They even called one of our guides for us when he was running late for a trip we had planned through Viator. This revealed something so refreshing--that the island was small indeed, and that all of the people there worked hard to show us their beautiful land.

Pearl Beach Resort hosts one of the most beautiful and biggest beaches, a variety of bungalows and beachfront properties, and marvelous food.  The coral nursery on site is a plus if you want to swim with the fishes for awhile.  The switch to Pearl Beach Resort was certainly a blessing leading to even more beautiful scenes than we expected.

The first step to my room felt like a dream every single time.

This is what happens when you build a pool in paradise. A paradise inside another paradise. Sadly, I'm not even sure if i even touched the water. I was too busy taking pictures.

The morning light emerges as the sun ascends above Mt. Otemanu, creating an epic scene.

So many times, I was left in solitude taking pictures of every square inch of this place.

It's just....peaceful and splendid.

Here's the thing. Waves are absent here. So I just sat and waited (a very long time) for a boat to move some water so I could get some silky water moving over the rocks. Mission complete.

Even the beautiful vegetation had to marvel at the scene in front of them. See the guy relaxing on the left? I don't think it was terribly difficult for him.

Beach or pool? Pool or beach? Pearl Beach Resort made it a difficult decision. Maybe they should have called it Pool Beach Resort.

This is what we saw from our hut over the water. It was hard not to stare and have hours pass by. The ladder lured us to discover the marine life below.

If there was a picture dictionary for the word relax, this might be it.

I can't say enough about this wonderful place.  You can visit Pearl Beach Resort's website for more information.

If you like these, make sure not to miss the Bora Bora photo tour and get your snorkel gear on for some underwater photos.
