There's something extra special about aspen trees.

Suddenly I was surrounded by them at every turn as I explored the vast regions of Colorado that meshed the changing elevations and rugged landscapes with sprinkled colored aspens.

The meandering clouds above dusted the aspens and surrounding trees in swaths of light patterns as I would just stand there until the light was just right in the scene.

I hope you enjoy these pictures of aspens as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Billowing clouds above would suddenly illuminate the density of the groves, so I waited until the light kissed only these front aspens to add a sense of mystery. The contrast of the white aspens and the dark shadows left me filled with wonder.

Aspen row in Colorado

I appreciated how the sun illuminated this row of aspens to show off their autumn colors.

What is it about the aspens?  Many would agree that the soft white trunks littered with patterns, paired with beautiful changing colors just give us magic in the fall.

Want to see more autumn aspens?

If you haven't seen Colorado in the fall, you better put it on your bucket list right now so you can see it for yourself!

This magical time in Colorado could not have been fully realized without the help of my great tour guide, and Colorado native, Jesse!  Thank You!!!
