They call it BVI.
I stood on top of the cruise ship as we entered the beautiful British Virgin Islands.
As always, it is my mission to find every potential visual platter served to me and make the most of it.
Indeed, it is a duty and privilege I graciously accept.
The British Virgin Islands is a group of about four primary islands and fifty other much smaller ones, all begging to be explored. It's known mostly for its beautiful waters and beaches, and thus, also for its sailing and yachting.
It proved to be a hectic race as we climbed aboard a boat through Chillout Charters to see as much as we could in the area. Read that sentence again to understand the irony.
We slowly made our way out of an overnight rainstorm when the light created this dreamy landscape I was hoping for.
As we moved our way to port, I was excited to see this beautiful island of Tortola.
Our main mission was to find Virgin Gorda, a beautiful island that certainly would not disappoint.
More specifically, we wanted to swim in The Baths of Virgin Gorda, a place filled with huge bolders plunked in paradise.
I finally found the crown jewel of The Baths. This beautifully triangular cave contained mesmerizing water reflections and light.
As we made our way off the beach to the top, we had this great view of BVI. Notice my new bird friends all the way down the rock line.
It was difficult to capture the unique vista of this place, but I tried my best.
As we continued our tour of the islands, I found this amazing story-filled scene. I just love that tiny tree on the rock.
We turned back toward Tortola and saw these sailboats that seemed to be on a collision course. They weren't of course.
Maybe BVI could also stand for Bountiful Visual Indulgences.
I did my best to capture all I could, but it sure seemed like there was certainly not enough time to see it all.
