Winter can present some captivating scenes.  Snow and frost can transform common places to winter wonderlands.  While you might grab a glass of hot chocolate, I'll be grabbing my gear to capture these unique circumstances, even if it means I can't feel my toes for awhile.

My attempt here was to capture the thick frost on the trees in an abstract way. Even though it is a picture of a cold scene, this feels quite warm to me.
I couldn't help be captivated by the fresh coat of snow over the myriad of tire tracks creating a unique pattern to the frosted trees.
This image was set in my mind and took me a full year to capture the different seasons and merge them into a single one.
I remember this day like it was yesterday. It was actually five years ago. The light was magical.
Folks in the midwest know what sun dogs are (rainbows around the sun) formed from frozen ice crystals in the air. You know what this means for temperature.
I spotted this row of trees from the foggy road. If it weren't for the fog, you'd be able to see the other side which would lose its mystery.
These rows of cars is an art installation near Clark, South Dakota. The snow makes the red pop.
